The Ghana.GOV platform has officially been outdoored with a call on stakeholders to leverage on it to ease the stress of doing business with government agencies.
Ghana.GOV is a digital services and revenue collection platform hosting government agencies in addition to twenty-three commercial banks to facilitate business transactions.
Vice President Bawumia said the platform will promote transparency and enhance accountability in operations in the government sector and help achieve its long-term goal of a Ghana Beyond Aid.
He impressed on all Ministries, Departments and Agencies which are not on the platform to speed up the process before the year ends.
The Ghana.GOV platform will create a single access point to all services of Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
The portal will also highlight growth in government revenue collections, deepen expenditure savings, reduce human interface in the administration of public services to help sustain the fight against corruption.
Vice President Bawumia said the new portal will complement government’s digitisation agenda.
The Minister for Communications and Digitisation, Ursula Owusu Ekuful, said the digitisation of the economy has began yielding the desired results. She stressed that government is focused on building the digital landscape in the country adding that the Ghana.GOV platform will be fully interoperable across both payment options and payment channels.
The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta in a remark said in the midst of Covid 19, leveraging on technology to digitize and formalize the economy is paramount. He said the platform will not only help seal potential revenue leakages but also help improve revenue mobilization by an estimated 3 billion Ghana cedis.
