Senior Staff Association-Universities of Ghana calls off strike

The National Executive Councils of the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana, and the Federation of Universities Senior Staff Association of Ghana, FUSSAG, have suspended their industrial action which was declared on the second of this month, with immediate effect.

This follows the National Labour Commission’s ruling last Friday, and various interventions by the Ministers of Education and Employment and Labour Relations as well as the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission on behalf of Government, culminating in a road map that serves as a guide to ensure sincerity and fairness in a speedy resolution of all the impasse.

Speaking to GBC News, the National Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana, SSA-UoG, Mohammed Zakaria, said they will continue to engage faithfully with government and other relevant stakeholders in their fight for justice, fairness and equity in the salaries and allowances administration of their members.
