A few hours ago, FC Barcelona announced the sacking of head coach, Ronald Koeman.
This comes after a terrible performance from the Dutchman for picking just 15 points from 10 Laliga games and even struggling to qualify from the group stage of the Champions League.
This sad news hit Ronald Koeman’s camp after losing to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday which was Barca’s third loss in their last four games.
In a statement, the Spanish club said: “The president of the club, Joan Laporta, informed him [Koeman] of the decision after the defeat against Rayo Vallecano.
“Ronald Koeman will say goodbye to the squad on Thursday.”
“FC Barcelona wishes to thank him for his service to the club and wishes him all the best in his professional career.”
Barca could soon have a replacement for Koeman. There are many names on the list but as it stands, Ghnewsfile can confirm that longtime midfielder and current Al Sadd head coach Xavi has been offered the job.
Xavi has an exit clause with the Qatar side but it is understood that he wants to move to Barcelona, who are prepared to pay the fee needed to secure the 41-year-old.
