Ghana’s second game of the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nation kicked off yesterday with a disappointing 1-1 draw with the Gabon National team.
Following their loss against Morocco, the Stars were eager to win the game against the Panthers of Gabon at all cost but luck eluded them when Jim Allevinah hit a precise shot to get his side levelled in the last minutes of the game after Ghana had taken the lead in the 18th minute of the game with captain Dede Ayew scoring a fantastic goal for his side.
Moments after the referee blew the final whistle, there was a scuffle that took the intervention of security to calm things down.
It was in the midst of the chaos that Benjamin Tetteh who came on in the 86th minute threw a punch at a Gabonese player and ran into the dressing room.
That didn’t save him from not receiving the red card as VAR review pointed out that he was indeed the one who threw the punch that sent the Gabonese player to the ground. Benjamin Tetteh will miss Black Stars next game against Comoros.
A video that captures the scuffle has popped up on social media. Checkout video below;
