The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final came off on Sunday which ended in a goalless draw after both Senegal and Egypt failed to score after 120 minutes. It was a penalty shoot-out that separated both sides.
After the final whistle, Senegal and Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane went straight to tearful Egyptian forward, Mohamed Salah to console him .
Mane and Salah went head-to-head in the 2021 AFCON final showdown, and after agonizingly losing on penalties, the latter couldn’t help but shed a tear.
The Liverpool star, who scored the winning penalty for Senegal, was quick to comfort Salah and offer words of encouragement to the Egyptian captain.
Mane classily took a break from Senegal’s wild celebrations to have a quiet talk with his friend and club teammate, Salah.
