Lionel Messi to remain in PSG despite criticism from French media

Despite the intense scrutiny surrounding his performances for the French Ligue 1 giants, Lionel Messi has decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, according to Le Parisien.
Since joining PSG from Barcelona in the summer of 2021, Messi has struggled with consistency.
The 34-year-old has scored just seven goals in 23 games across competitions for Pochettino’s side.
Recall that Messi’s previous performances have drew criticism from the French press.
The PSG number 30 was heavily chastised after Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois saved his penalty in the Champions League last month.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, however, is now willing to commit to the Parisian club for another season.
Messi had agreed to a two-year deal that could be extended by another year at the end of the 2022-23 season.
According to the report, Messi is dissatisfied with how the French media has treated him in the past.
