Nigeria vs Ghana: CAF consider appointing non-African referees for World Cup playoffs

For the 2022 World Cup playoffs between Nigeria and Ghana, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is considering appointing non-African referees.

SportingLife reports that the goal is to ensure complete fairness in officiating between the West African rivals.

Meetings are being held to iron out the details, according to reports.

Aside from fierce rivalry, these playoffs have a lot riding on them, including a prize pool of at least $12 million for the five teams that will represent Africa in Qatar later this year.

On March 25, the Black Stars will face the Super Eagles in Cape Coast.

The reverse fixture will be played in Abuja four days later.
