Amir Abdou has replaced Didier Gomes Da Rosa as Mauritania’s coach, just a week after stepping down as coach of Comoros.
The decision was made at a meeting on Wednesday by the Mauritania Football Federation (FFRIM).

The Northwest Africans were eliminated from the competition after losing to The Gambia, Tunisia, and Mali without scoring a goal.
Abdou, 49, guided Comoros to their first-ever Nations Cup finals in Cameroon after serving as president for eight years.
After a surprising win over Ghana in the group stage, the Coelacanths succumbed 2-1 to the hosts in the final 16 of the tournament.
When the qualifying campaign begins later this year, his major goal will be to guide Mauritania to a third consecutive Nations Cup final in Ivory Coast next year
