Taylor Swift has taken notice of Avril Lavigne’s new album. Avril, who has a Midas touch when it comes to gifting, sent her a card and a bouquet ew album, Love Sux.
Taylor’s Instagram Stories captured images of the abundant bouquet of pink, white, and peach-colored flowers that accompanied the note, according to E! News “I’ve been twirling in my kitchen to your incredible new CD, Avril!! Like you, it’s fantastic.” The card stated, “Your eternal fan, Taylor.
Avril Lavigne celebrated the release of her seventh album with an intimate gig at The Roxy in Los Angeles as part of SiriusXM and Pandora’s Small Stage Series. The 37-year-old punk-pop diva was visibly thrilled throughout the event, delivering high-energy performances of fan favorites such as “Sk8er Boi,” “What the Hell,” “Girlfriend,” and “Complicated.”
Following her more emotional, low-key 2019 LP Head Above Water, Lavigne celebrated her return to the pop-rock realm with a bottle of champagne in hand, and she brought along some famous friends to help, including collaborator Travis Barker on drums for four songs and boyfriend Mod Sun, who joined her for their “Flames” duet, which ended with a sweet onstage hug and kisses
“I just said when I started working on this album, ‘I want to produce a pop-punk record, a rock-and-roll song.'” Playing the piano is not something I want to do. Ballads aren’t my favorite genre. Lavigne recently told Billboard, “I simply want to rock out.” “I think especially after my last album, which was so mellow and dramatic and deep and introspective — it was great, and it was where I was in my life at the time, and that’s what worked for me at the time,” she says.
But I was ready to get back out there, rock the f—k out, and start planning my live shows again. When I was old enough to buy records, this was the type of music that pulled me out to discover bands — like in my first year of high school in Canada, which is grade nine.”
