First set of Nigerians fleeing war in Ukraine arrives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport

The first group of Nigerians fleeing the Ukraine conflict have arrived at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

On Friday morning, over 400 Nigerians fleeing the Ukraine conflict arrived in Abuja, the country’s capital.

The group, the majority of whom were students, arrived on a chartered flight from Bucharest, Romania’s capital, shortly after 06:30 GMT. Bucharest is one of the hubs from which African governments are scrambling to extract stranded citizens.
