
FK Zalgiris opened their Lithuanian A Lyga title defense with a convincing victory, with Francis Kyeremeh scoring a brace and assisting on another.
Kyeremeh scored both goals in the first half to help Zalgiris win 6-0 over newly-promoted FC Jonava to start the season.
At the Sportiva Arena in Vilnius, the 24-year-old scored the game’s first goal in the 17th minute.
The score was 3-0 at halftime when Gorobsov, an Argentine midfielder, extended the lead in the 40th minute and Kyeremeh added his second of the game three minutes later.
The reigning champions scored three goals in the second half, including Ovidijus Verbickas, Marko Milickovic, and Donatas Kazlauskas.
In the 72nd minute, the Ghanaian helped Milickovic score.
After the game, Kyeremeh reacted to his goals and FK Zalgiris’ great win.
