Shatta Wale, a Ghanaian dancehall artist, has been trending on social media for the past few days after his mother confirmed rumors that he was fired from the house he was said to have bought for her over 5 years ago on the radio in tears.

Mama Elsie, also known as Shatta Mama, said she had tried unsuccessfully to contact her son to explain what was going on. Someone unexpectedly showed up and served her with eviction papers, she claims. She also confirmed that she owns the car that her son purchased, but that she is without a place to sleep.

Speaking to Angel Fm, Mama Elsie wept bitterly and added that she is ready to sell the car to any prospective buyer.
