Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ Nominated For The Billboard Music Awards For Top R&B Song
ESSENCE, a song by award-winning Nigerian artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, is proving to be a masterpiece.
The song has made history since its release, receiving international fame and being nominated for and winning numerous awards across the globe.
The most recent nomination came from the Billboard Music Awards, where it was nominated for Top R&B Song.
Wizkid has now received his eighth Billboard Music Award nomination.
Wizkid was in the news a few days ago after failing to win the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album.
He lost to African music superstar Angelique Kidjo, and in response, he sent Angelique Kidjo and Black Coffee congratulatory messages for their Grammy victory.
Angelique Kidjo won the Grammy for Best Global Music Album, while South African DJ Black Coffee won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album, making him the first African DJ to win a Grammy.
