Possible Claims Of Asamoah Gyan To Become Next GFA President Causes Stir.

Following their retirement, some African players, including Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba, have entered football politics. Asamoah Gyan on the other hand is no exception.

Asamoah Gyan has a great relationship with these two and hopes to one day follow in their footsteps.

Last year, former Barcelona and Inter Milan player Samuel Eto’o was elected president of the Cameroonian Football Federation.

Didier Drogba, a former Chelsea forward, was recently cleared to run for the presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation.

“I don’t know. It might be possible. I haven’t thought about it. There are a lot of people who call me and tell me that I can be the FA President one day,” he told Accra-based Asaase Radio.

“It’s something I haven’t thought about but it might get to a time when I might pick a thought that the people are choosing me. I don’t think Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba ever thought that they would go for the presidency. It got to a time where they realized that they could,” Gyan added.
