Pete Davidson has revealed the advice given to him by his longtime friend John Mulaney about rapper Kanye West after the latter spread false rumors about him.
In his “Netflix Is a Joke: The Festival” performance, the Saturday Night Live star claimed that a longtime friend instructed him to spread a rumor that West has polio in response to the rapper allegedly telling people Davidson has AIDS.
“You know what’s hilarious about that? AIDS is such an old-fashioned disease. ‘You’ve got AIDS.’ It’s just so the ’90s and early 2000s to like [come at me].
“I was contacted by John Mulaney. ‘AIDS?’ he asks. You should spread the word that he has polio!”
John Mulaney instructed me to spread rumors. Kanye West has polio, according to Pete Davidson.
Davidson also joked about Kanye disguising himself to gain access to the Kardashians’ home.
“Does anyone else secretly hope Kanye pulls a Mrs. Doubtfire?”
“One day I come home and he’s like, ‘What’s up fam?'”
The joke is based on the 1993 film in which Robin Williams’ character disguises himself as an elderly British woman to persuade his ex-wife, played by Sally Field, to hire him as a nanny.
Since Kardashian filed for divorce from West, the rapper has made several public pleas to the reality star to reconcile. West’s feud with Davidson has resulted in the rapper burying a cartoon version of Davidson alive in the video for his song “Eazy.”
Kardashian and West filed for divorce in February 2021. The former couple, who divorced in March, has two daughters, North, 8, and Chicago, 4, as well as two sons, Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2.
