The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has hinted at plans to contest in the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming Presidential primaries.
The Assin Central lawmaker, disclosed this on Monday, 16 May 2022, on his NET2 television station.
“After long pondering to have a clear observation and assessment over activities across the political airspace, he has finally come to terms with the reality, the belief, conviction and (sic) decisive that he can take the mantle” – his spokesperson, Kwaku Annan said in a statement Mr Agyapong issued.
The NPP is expected to go to the polls in 2023 to select its flagbearer of the 2024 general elections.
Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, ahead of the internal polls, has urged leadership of the party to ensure the process is fair.
According to President Akufo-Addo, a fair process, will eliminate divisions in the party.
