Arsenal attacker Eddie Nketiah will play for the Black Stars, according to a Ghanaian coach residing in the United Kingdom.

According to UK-based Performance Coach Freddy Twum, Arsenal attacker Eddie Nketiah will play for Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Freddy Twum, the Arsenal star’s personal trainer, has hinted that the in-form attacker could play for the four-time African champions.

“Eddie Nketiah will arrive at some point, but I hope it would be before the World Cup,” Twum told Happy FM in Accra.

“When he arrives, it will be extremely beneficial to the Black Stars.” Jordan Ayew is on his way out, and if (Nketiah) comes in, it will be a huge boost for us.”

Nketiah, who was born in the United Kingdom to Ghanaian parents, has been on the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) wish list for some time, with the FA reportedly identifying him as a possible addition to the Black Stars squad.

The GFA’s efforts to persuade the player to play for Ghana have so far achieved no positive results, and the pursuit continues.

Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi, Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey, and the Inaki brothers are among the players with whom the GFA is in negotiations about a possible nationality move, according to reports.

Several UK and Ghanaian media sites have reported on England’s loss of the Arsenal forward to Ghana.

Ghana targets Eddie Nketiah, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Tariq Lamptey were left out of England boss Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures.
