Catch Highlight On AFCON 2023 Qualifying Match; Ghana Defeated Madagascar 3-0 [Watch]

At the Cape Coast Sports Stadium today, Ghana defeated Madagascar 3-0 in the first of six AFCON 2023 qualifying games.

Kudus Mohammed, Felix Afena-Gyan, and Osman Bulgarian scored for Otto Addo’s team, giving them all three points.

The game appeared to be going for a sad conclusion on the Stars’ return to the Cape Coast Stadium after a first half in which Ghana dominated and created multiple chances but failed to score.

Due to poor finishing and a tenacious opponent in Madagascar’s goalie, the game remained goalless at halftime.

The Black Stars of Ghana continued to dominate at the start of the second half, and Kudus tapped into an empty net after a cutback from the right in the 53rd minute.

Afena-Gyan doubled the lead minutes later, converting a loose ball from a Jordan Ayew corner.

Kudus punched in a third goal from a Baba Rahman cross, putting the Black Stars in complete control.

Ghana pushed forward and deservedly scored a third goal when substitute Osman Bukari wrapped the ball around the Madagascar goalkeeper and into the net.

Mubarak Wakaso, whose spot in the squad had been up for grabs all week, even showed up.
