World Athletics Championships: Ghana through to 4x100m relay final

At the World Athletics Championships on Friday night, the Ghanaian team of Sean Safo-Antwi, Benjamin Azamati, Emmanuel Oduro-Manu, and Joseph Paul Amoah advanced to the men’s 4×100-meter relay final.

With a season-best time of 38.58 seconds, they placed third in Heat 1 behind the United States and Great Britain to advance to the final.

With a world-record time of 37.87, Christian Coleman, Noah Lyles, Elijah Hall, and Marvin Bracy of the USA were the night’s quickest qualifiers.

Joseph Paul Amoah’s fast time of 8.22 seconds earned Ghana an automatic qualifying berth. Amoah’s time of 8.22 seconds was the best among the heats.

Nigeria was dismissed.

On Sunday, July 23, at 2:50 a.m. local time, the final will take place.
