La Liga has asked the court to terminate Kylian Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

The fallout in Spain as a result of Kylian Mbappe‘s choice to stay at Paris Saint-Germain this summer is deserving of the term “nuclear.”
The French forward appeared to be on his way to Real Madrid after his contract at PSG expired, but he ultimately elected to stay in Paris, pocketing a large money in the process.
Real Madrid President Florentino Perez accused PSG of brainwashing Kylian Mbappe in the aftermath, and La Liga decided to take formal action.
Their President, Javier Tebas, indicated that the league would take PSG to court over the matter, alleging Financial Fair Play violations.
According to Relevo, their legal complaint now contains a unique request. Tebas had already requested action, and if La Liga gets their way, Mbappe’s contract with PSG will be terminated by the Administrative Tribunal.

It would be an extraordinary step for the courts to take, and it would cause enormous ripples in the football world. It remains to be seen whether the accusation has any merit.
