European clubs want to sign Cristiano Ronaldo if he agrees to a wage drop, and Manchester United will allow a free transfer, according to reports.

Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo provided he accepts a wage cut and the Red Devils grant a free transfer.
According to the Daily Mail, Ronaldo, 37, arrived to Carrington training field on Tuesday, July 26 for talks with club executives about his future at the club.
The former Real Madrid player has already requested that he be allowed to depart if a suitable offer is offered this summer.
The meeting resulted in little change from either party; Ronaldo continues to want to leave, while the club believes he is not for sale.
He wants to keep playing in the UEFA Champions League, which Manchester United did not qualify for this season.
Atletico Madrid are willing to make a deal for Ronaldo, but only if the iconic attacker accepts a price drop from his base weekly salary of £360,000.
The La Liga club also wants United to let him depart for free, which appears unlikely to be agreed by the Red Devils.
United are also not considering loaning out the Portuguese star or extending his contract.
The Red Devils’ next preseason friendly is against Atletico Madrid on July 30. It will be interesting to watch if Ronaldo plays against Diego Simeone’s team. The former Juventus player missed United’s preseason tour of Thailand and Australia due to ‘family circumstances.’ Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is emphatic that Ronaldo is not for sale, telling reporters on the club’s Asian tour:
“That’s all we have planned with Ronaldo for this season. I’m excited to collaborate with him.
He continued, “Cristiano is not for sale; he is part of our goals, and we want to achieve success together.””
Last season, the Portuguese legend was by far United’s highest scorer, with 24 goals in 38 games across all competitions.
Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United risks infuriating Real Madrid fans.

During his tenure at the Santiago Bernabeu, Cristiano Ronaldo established himself as a Real Madrid legend. Los Blancos have signed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner from Manchester United.
The Portuguese great joined to the Bernabeu in 2009 for a then-world record fee of £80 million. Ronaldo scored 450 goals and provided 131 assists in 438 appearances for Real Madrid before joining Juventus in 2018. He won the UEFA Champions League four times, La Liga twice, and the Spanish Cup twice.
With a famous spell that may never be repeated, the great forward became a real Galacticos hero.
