Before dealing with them, Lionel Messi planned to purchase 35% of the club. – Documents

According to American writer Alex Candal, Lionel Messi sought to buy 35% of the shares in Major League Soccer club Inter Miami before initiating negotiations with them.

According to the story, Messi wanted to invest in Major League Soccer (MLS) before touring the North American continent with his family a few months ago. Last year, the Argentine superstar joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a free transfer.

Barcelona couldn’t afford Messi’s salaries, so the Argentina international relocated to Paris. His current contract at the Parc des Princes expires in 2023 and might be extended for another year. It remains to be seen what plans Messi has for his future after his time with PSG comes to an end. According to the aforementioned source, he could join MLS in the near future.

David Beckham and brothers Jorge and Jose Mas presently control Inter Miami. The club was founded in January 2018 and has been competing in the top tier in the United States since 2020. Messi’s debut season with the Ligue 1 club was unimpressive by his standards. In 26 league games, he managed to score six goals and make 11 assists, his lowest number of league goals since the 2005/06 season.

Xavi could authorise a plan to bring Messi back to Camp Nou if they can afford to sign Lionel Messi in the near future.
