Following the suspect’s guilty plea, American rapper Nicki Minaj found who killed her father.
Robert Maraj, the father of the rapper, died in a hit-and-run incident.
Charles Polevich, the driver, was sentenced to time behind bars and was required to serve a year in jail.
Polevich admitted guilt to two felonies and was given a one-year prison term.
First, evading police and tampering with tangible evidence after leaving the scene of an incident.
In addition, he will pay a $5,000 fine and have his licence banned for six months.
Polevich could have spent up to seven years in prison.
On the other side, Judge Howard Sturim kept his word and sentenced him to no more than a year in jail.
In February 2021, Nicki’s father was hit and killed on Long Island while out walking. He was 64 years old.
The police reported that after the collision, the driver sought to conceal the vehicle in a detached garage at his home.
Robert, on the other hand, was taken to a hospital in a severe condition but passed away from his wounds.
Nicki eventually opened up about the tragedy on her website, saying … “I can say it has been the most devastating loss of my life.”
