Kenneth Perez, a former striker for Ajax, thinks that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag shouldn’t punish Cristiano Ronaldo for leaving the game early on Sunday.
Ronaldo left before the game against Rayo Vallecano was over, even though he had played in the first half.
Perez said, “If he steps in, it would be a mistake, but that’s what many Dutch trainers do.”
“Of course, the Dutch aren’t good at that, because rules are rules and the stockings have to go up.
“It’s just not smart to punish someone. Even if he does something stupid, that’s fine. At least, all of the great coaches at clubs like Real Madrid say that you should make sure your players are happy and not do too much.
“Ronaldo will have a big impact on the whole mood, so if you want to do something like this with him…”
