
A Japanese national named Morikawa Hikawu has been detained in Ghana, according to the police.
This was done upon INTERPOL Tokyo’s request.
His passport was revoked by Japan, which was followed by the arrest.
According to a Police release dated Tuesday, August 2, the suspect appeared in court and was remanded into legal prison while he was awaiting his removal from the country.
“The INTERPOL Unit of the Ghana Police Service is working with the Ghana Immigration Service, INTERPOL Tokyo and the Japanese Embassy in Ghana for his removal,” the statement said.
