Bawumia Cannot Be Blamed For Ghana’s Economic Hardship – NAPO

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the minister of energy, has urged Ghanaians to quit blaming Dr. Bawumia for the country’s economic problems.

He said that anytime he notices people blaming the Veep, he becomes depressed.

NAPO was a guest on Kokrokoo, an award-winning morning programme on Peace FM.

Though Dr. Bawumia is the leader of the Economic Management Team, in his opinion, they function as a unit and collaborate.

According to Prempeh, this indicates that no one individual is genuinely accountable for the state of the economy.

“I get sad when people blame Vice President Bawumia because that’s the only Committee that’s called a team,” NAPO said.

“When you go to Cabinet, we have Social and Infrastructure Committee and others but when we reached the economy, we say Economic Management Team. So, we appointed experts on the team,” he added.

More Ghanaians should have faith in the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration, the former education minister urged.

Opoku Prempeh continued by stating that the NPP has demonstrated over time to be the only government that provides social intervention programmes to Ghanaians when in power.

According to his prediction, the administration would finally bring Ghana out of the IMF and into financial stability.

“NPP will take Ghana out from IMF for us to get our relief.” he said.
