Patricia Apolot, who is the current female kickboxing champion of Uganda, has said that she tried out a few different jobs before choosing kickboxing.
Apolot didn’t think it was a good idea for her to start kickboxing.
Patricia Apolot told NBS Sport that she joined the gym at first to get back at an ex-boyfriend who broke up with her.
He chose to become a kickboxer after meeting Golola Moses at the gym.
In 2011, she had only been going to the gym for two weeks when she met Golola. She said, “I met him (Golola), and I will always be grateful.”
The 31-year-old kickboxer started getting paid to do sports in 2014. Gold medals were given to her at the Mt. Gorilla Taekwondo Open, the 2013 East Africa Inter-Club Boxing Championships, and the 2014 National Kickboxing Championships (Female Lightweight Division), and the 2014 WKF International Title (Female Lightweight Division).
