Scooby Selah, of the music trio TH4 Kwaages, spoke with DJ Magnus on Oil City Mix on Connect 97.1 FM to reveal how Castro was discovered as a talent.
After paying a visit to Castro in the late ’90s, he says he learned about his existence during a conversation in Castro’s Takoradi residence.
According to Scooby Selah, Theophilos Tagoe, also known as Castro, began unexpectedly singing along to an instrumental created for a future song by the TH4 Kwaages group.
We (TH4 Kwaages) had a visit from Castro in our Takoradi residence. I was taken aback when he began belting out an instrumental for an unannounced album. I inquired as to whether or not he has ever put down a musical track. It was a negative, as he stated. He mentioned that he was friends with another up-and-coming musician. “I got together with two other guys and we called ourselves 2 PM, which stands for “two prominent men,” as he said.
We are still expecting the best,” Scooby Selah responded when asked if Castro would return after being away for eight years.
The Grammy-winning musician vanished in July 2014 on a trip to Aqua Safari with his longtime buddy and former Black stars of Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan and his brother Baffour Gyan.
