Alec Baldwin thinks he was sacked because of the Rust shooting inquiry. (Details)

Alec Baldwin says he was fired from a movie he was going to be in because of the shooting that killed Halyna Hutchins.
Alec Baldwin says that he has been fired from a new project because of the shooting that happened on the set of Rust, a western that has been put on hold. Halyna Hutchins, a cinematographer, was accidentally shot and killed when Baldwin’s prop gun went off while they were setting up a scene. Baldwin told CNN that he had been fired from a project that was already set up and ready to go.
“Yesterday, I was fired from another job. I was ready to go to a movie, and get on a plane,… I’ve been talking to these guys for months, and yesterday they told me, “Because of this, we don’t want to make the movie with you.”

Baldwin went on to say that the experience after the accidental shooting of Rust has “taken years off my life” and that, without his wife’s support, he probably would have quit the business altogether. He didn’t say which upcoming project it was.
“I don’t know where I’d be right now if I didn’t have my wife… If I didn’t have her, I would have probably quit, retired, sold everything I owned, moved to the middle of nowhere, and found something else to do, like selling real estate.
Halyna Hutchins was killed on the set of Rust when Alec Baldwin shot her with a prop gun. The same bull-selling also hurt the director, Joel Souza. The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, the New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney, and the New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety Bureau are all looking into what happened. The FBI’s tests and investigation of the gun showed that it could not have been fired without a trigger pull.
Baldwin has said that he did not pull the gun’s trigger and that he was told in no uncertain terms that the gun was safe after the FBI’s investigation. Baldwin said, “The man who is in charge of safety on the set of the movie told me the gun was safe when he gave it to me.” “In front of everyone, the main safety officer for the movie said, ‘This is a cold gun.'” “Why did he say that if he didn’t know and hadn’t checked?”

He went on, “The point is that we were told everything was fine and that we could all just chill out, and we are practicing with a gun that is safe to use. Most likely, one or both of the two people who were in charge of one situation or line of responsibility and the other person were careless.
Rust is no longer being filmed. Alec Baldwin’s upcoming projects include the thriller 97 Minutes, the animated comedy Kid Santa, the family adventure Billie’s Magic World, and the disaster action movie Supercell, which he stars with the late Anne Heche.
