Scrap Fuel Allowances For All Political Office Holders Including The President – John Dumelo

John Dumelo, a Ghanaian actor and prospective politician, has urged the government to eliminate the free fuel allowances given to all elected officials in Ghana, including the president.

The former Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary candidate said that such allowances must be eliminated from the list of advantages politicians receive while in government during an interview with Nana Romeo Welewele on Accra100.5 FM.

He said that the task should start with the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, and work its way down to all of his cabinet members, lawmakers, ministers, and other political office holders in the nation.

“When you talk about fuel, I think we should start from the top, the presidency down to the DCE’s and the MCE’s so that we know we are scrapping off or reducing the amount of fuel they take”, he said.

John also said that other allowances like security should be intensified because the leaders and lawmakers in the country need to be protected at all cost.

“As for security, we have had instances were politicians are attacked in this country so for that, I feel they need some form of security because they are the ones who make the laws“, he added.
