Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is begging European powerhouses to sign the star player from Manchester United.

Sky Italia says that Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has reached out to Serie A team Napoli about a move (via Fox Sports). Ronaldo wants to leave Old Trafford and play in the UEFA Champions League. This is not a secret. United finished sixth in the league last year, so they will play in the UEFA Europa League this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe, like Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich. However, all of these teams have publicly said they don’t want to sign the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. Jorge Mendes has reached out to Napoli in a last-ditch effort to get his client a move to a Champions League team. This season, the giants of Serie A will play in the best club football tournament in Europe. The Serie A team is in Group A of the tournament with Ajax, Liverpool, and Rangers. According to the same source, the super agent is trying to pay for a trade that will send Napoli forward Victor Osimhen to Manchester United. The Red Devils have been looking for a new forward all summer. Right now, they are in talks with Ajax to sign Brazilian forward Antony. A move to Serie A makes sense for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward has played in the Italian league before. From 2018 to 2021, he played for Juventus.

In Serie A, Ronaldo played 98 games and scored 81 goals and set up 17 others. He won the Scudetto twice with the club from Turin.

But it’s not likely that the swap deal will be easy for everyone involved. Napoli is likely to ask for money, and Cristiano Ronaldo is going to sell Manchester United Victor Osimhen. Even though rumors said that Osimhen was going to Old Trafford, his agent, Roberto Calenda, said that these stories were not true. “There are no negotiations or swap deal talks going on,” he told Fox Sports. Osimhen plays for Napoli, and he wants to play in the Champions League with them. He’s happy to be in the UCL.

Cristiano Ronaldo needs regular playing time at Manchester United or somewhere else.
Cristiano Ronaldo does need to play regularly in order to be ready for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The 2022 FIFA World Cup is Ronaldo’s last chance to win football’s highest honor. The tournament starts in November, so he will need to be in great shape.
Ronaldo needs to play more, but it’s hard for him to get that at Manchester United. In the three league games so far, the Portuguese forward has only started one.

Last week, Ronaldo could only get a four-minute cameo off the bench against Liverpool. That time, Manchester United did win by a score of 2-1.
