Singer Tems Loses To Nicki Minaj At The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards

Temilade Openiyi, an afrobeats recording artist and naturally gifted singer known in the entertainment industry as Tems, lost to Nicki Minaj in the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.

With two wins at the 2022 BET Awards and nominations for the Billboard Music Awards and MTV VMAs, the popular Nigerian singer and songwriter has had an incredible year.

The renowned video award show, where brilliance was honored, was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The MTV Video Music Awards recognize the year’s top music videos, and 2022 was no exception.

For her contribution to Future’s song “Wait For U,” Tems received a nomination in the Best Hip Hop category. Nicki Minaj, a rapper, won the category with her song “Do We Have A Problem,” .

The 2022 MTV VMA featured a spectacular night of music, fashion, and glitz and was hosted by American celebrities LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj, and Jack Harlow.
