For the SECOND time in a year, both Atletico and Porto score THREE goals after the 90th minute in the Champions League.

For the second time in a year, the Champions League game between Atletico Madrid and Porto last night ended with THREE goals in extra time.

At the Metropolitano Stadium, the score was 0-0 in the 90th minute.

In the first minute of extra time, Mario Hermoso broke the tie. This gave Atletico Madrid a 1-0 lead.

In the 96th minute, Mateus Uribe scored a penalty kick for Porto to tie the game.

And just when it looked like both teams would get the same number of points, Antoine Griezman scored a last-minute goal to give Diego Simeone’s team the win in spectacular fashion.

But things changed quickly when Mario Hermoso scored in the first minute of extra time to give Atletico Madrid a 1-0 lead.

In the 96th minute, Mateus Uribe scored a penalty kick for Porto to tie the game.

And just when it looked like both teams would get the same number of points, Antoine Griezman scored a last-minute goal to give Diego Simeone’s team the win in spectacular fashion.

Last night’s exciting game was only the second time in the history of the Champions League that three goals were scored after the 90th minute (not counting extra time).

Coincidentally, the first occurrence of this came during last year’s group-stage clash… between Porto and Atletico Madrid.

The team of Simeone also won that match, which took place in December 2021.

When Angel Correa scored in the 90th minute to make it 2-0, Atletico was already on its way to a 1-0 win.

After two minutes, midfielder Rodrigo De Paul scored to make it 3-0 for his team.
