A church has reacted after a photo showing two persons laying on each other on the church’s altar while a pastor and other church members reached out their hands toward them, went viral and provoked uproar online.
According to viral accounts, the pair had been trying for a child for ten years without success, and when they sought aid from the church, the minister advised them to have coitus on the altar in front of the congregation.
The photo created controversy, with many people sharing their thoughts about it.
However, reacting, the church based in Brazil said the photo was of two women, not a man and a woman.
They said that the woman had arrived unwell and had fainted during service. So after the preaching, the pastor called the sick woman and urged another woman to lie to her as a prophetic act.
The church said having a female minister lie on top of the sick woman was based on the Bible story that saw Prophet Elisha lie on the corpse of a dead boy while praying to God to restore his spirit to life.
