Sources say that the 50-year-old Ekow Blankson died in a hospital in Tema on Monday morning, surrounded by his wife and children.
The actor, who was also involved in other private businesses, played different roles in many movies and commercials.
In movies like Borga, Frozen Emotion, Savannah, In April, Checkmate, Illusions, A Woman Scorned, Pool Party, and Famous, he played roles.
He has a Master of Fine Arts and a Diploma in Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana, Legon (Drama).
Mr. Blankson also got a certificate in marketing from the Heineken Global Commerce University in Amsterdam.
He leaves a wife and kids behind.

Ekow Blankson has worked for media companies like The Multimedia Group, Media General Limited, and TV Africa in the past.
At The Multimedia Group, he was the General Manager of Luv FM and Nhyira FM and the Managing Director of Brands and Corporate Communications.

In an interview with Rev. Erskine of YFM in July 2021, Mr. Blankson said that working on the set of “Checkmate” was his favorite time spent in front of the camera.
He said that the director of the movie, Shirley Frimpong-Manso, helped him find and set up the amazing moment.
“I was used to doing things my way back then,” he said.
“Before I got to that set, I was used to making suggestions about movements, how lines were said, and whether or not they should be changed.
“It was clear that the director knew what she was doing, and I knew that those were better than what I had suggested.”
Ekow saw that all the work he put into the movie paid off because many people liked how he did in it.
