Elon Musk unveils the first delivery date and client for the Tesla Semi truck

Tesla has finally started making its all-electric Semi truck. On December 1, Pepsi will get the first one.

Elon Musk, the CEO of the company, tweeted about the news on Thursday evening. He also said that the truck is “super fun to drive.”

Firms like Walmart, FedEx, DHL, United Parcel Service, and Anheuser-Busch are also said to be interested in buying Tesla’s Semi truck.

Since it was first shown off five years ago, Tesla’s Semi truck has had several production delays. Customers who wanted the truck had to be very patient or look for other options while they waited for it to arrive.

Musk, the head of Tesla, said in August that a version of the Semi with a range of 500 miles would start shipping before the end of 2022, and it looks like that will happen. Many people thought the truck wouldn’t come out until 2023 because Tesla’s CEO had said at the beginning of the year that the company wouldn’t be releasing any new cars in 2022. So, the summer announcement came as a surprise. Even though that will probably still be the case for most Semi customers, Pepsi seems to have hit the jackpot and should get their electric truck at the beginning of December.

The first Semi trucks are being made near Tesla’s Gigafactory in Nevada, and the company plans to make a lot of them at its Giga Texas site, which is near Austin.

When loaded to its maximum gross vehicle weight of 80,000 pounds, Tesla’s Semi can hit 60 miles per hour in 20 seconds and has a sleek design.

Tesla says that the car’s four independent motors give it the most power and speed, and that this means it uses less energy per mile.

The company has been testing prototypes of the car on public roads in California. In 2019, for example, a Semi was seen driving down a California freeway carrying brand-new cars. This was the first time the vehicle was driven on the road.

And in 2021, Tesla released video of the truck driving on a test track at its Fremont, California, factory.

Tesla will also release a Semi with a range of 300 miles in addition to the 500-mile version. The base price for the first will likely be $180,000, while the base price for the second will be $150,000.
