Harry Kane breaks down in tears in an interview over the death of precious Tottenham coach, Gian Piero Ventrone

Harry Kane paid tribute to Gian Piero Ventrone when he scored the game-winning goal at Brighton. He was very emotional about it.

When talking about the Spurs fitness coach, who died on Thursday at age 61 after a short battle with acute leukemia, the team’s star player got choked up.

Before the game started, Spurs warmed up in shirts that said “Always in our hearts, Gian Piero.” during the game, wore black armbands.

The death of Ventrone had left Spurs’ players and manager, Antonio Conte, very sad. This was clear during the moment of silence.

Kane then looked up and pointed after scoring a header that gave Spurs a 1-0 win at the Amex.

When Kane talked about Ventrone after the game, his voice shook as he praised him.

He also looked down at the ground as he talked about the club’s “tough week.”

Kane took a deep breath and said on Sky Sports, “To say the least, it’s been a tough week. It was nice to get a win today.”

When asked if his goal was for Ventrone, Kane said, “Yeah of a sloppy goal, but Sonny (Son Heung-min) just scored a fast one.

“Yeah, when you’re happy, it just kind of rolls off you and goes in, and that’s what happened.

“Proud of the boys today. It’s been a hard week, and it’s hard to come here when you’re not at home.

“We didn’t play as well as we know we can, but when we had to, we dug deep. The boys did a great job keeping a clean sheet, and it was a very important win.”

Hugo Lloris, the captain of Spurs, went over to the away Spurs fans with a shirt that said “Ventrone” after the game.

“There’s only one Gian Piero” was chanted back by the away fans.

Someone also asked Ryan Sessegnon if the win was for Ventrone.

And he said: “Yeah 100 per cent. We knew we had to perform today and wanted to win because of him, and yeah thankfully we did that today.”.

While Son said: “The world has lost a truly special person. Gian Piero, you helped me get through the hardest times, and together we celebrated some incredible memories.

“I cannot put in enough words my gratitude to you, and how much I owe to you. We will miss you so, so much.

“Thank you for everything, my friend. I am sending all of my love to you and all of your family.”
