Government To Ban All Taxi Drivers, Trotro And Other Commercial Drivers Who Fall Under No Union


Mr Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, Clergyman of Transport, says from January 2021, business drivers who don’t have a place with a perceived vehicle association will be banned. 

The minister encouraged all ‘meandering drivers’ to join either the current affiliations or structure another association and be enrolled to work under the new Metropolitan Vehicle Task. 

He said the move, was to screen and authorization any obstinate driver who spurned the street wellbeing guidelines. 

Mr Asiamah said this on Thursday at the initiation of the Takoradi Driver and Vehicle Authorizing Authority(DVLA) and the presentation of value transport administrations in the Secondi-Takoradi City. 

The introduction of the transports is to address the transportation challenges confronting the urban communities in a more far reaching and all encompassing way. 

The transports will employ from Takoradi to Apowa, Takoradi to Shama, Takoradi to Sekondi and Takoradi to Kwesimintsim as a pilot venture.
