The late Ekow Kwansah Hayford.

Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Fuseini Yakubu says his investigation team has sampled and is seriously studying all the contacts retrieved from the accused person in the case of the late Mfantseman MP.

This, he said, can help them in their investigations since the notice by lawyers of the accused persons to the prosecution had no addresses nor house numbers and contact of the accused persons.

He told an Accra Circuit Court that they are still waiting for the result of the fingerprint of the accused persons from the Cyber Crime Forensic Units.

Lawyer for the eighth accused person, Paul Kumi for the fourth time prayed the court to admit his clients to bail, since there is no way they will interfere with investigations. He said the presumption of innocent cries in favour of his clients and there are trusted independent people who stand as sureties and he will make sure his client come to court when it deems fit.

Other lawyers in the case also took turns to argue for bail for their client saying it’s been four months since they were kept in custody and prayed the court to have mercy and admit them to bail.

The Circuit Court Judge, Evelyn Asamoah after listening to both sides declined the bail application and remanded the accused persons into police custody to reappear on the eighth of next month. They have all been charged with conspiracy to robbery and murder.
