The Teachers’ and Educational Workers Union, TEWU has suspended its nationwide strike.
This was after a meeting with its leadership and government yesterday. TEWU in a statement signed by its General Secretary Mark Dankyira Korankye and National Chairman Ambrose Yao Kwadzodza said the Union has come to an agreement with Government on the issuespresented, hence, the need to suspend the strike action for now.
The Teachers’ and Educational Workers Union declared an indefinite strike last Wednesday, 13th January, to demand better conditions of service.Among the things they are seeking is a review of the Conditions of Service for Unionised Staff of the Public Universities which expired in 2008.
In the statement TEWU has asked its members to return to work today.
